Huang Wen Ying is a Taiwanese production designer, costume designer, art director, and producer. A native of Chiayi, she graduated from National Tsing Hua University in with a B.A. in Chinese Language and Literature in 1986. She then obtained a master's degree in theater production at the University of Pittsburgh as well as a master's degree in art design at Carnegie Mellon University. From 1990 to 1996, she worked on Broadway in theater design.

In the mid-90s she began to collaborated with director Hou Hsiao Hsien. After numerous successful films, in 1999 they founded Sino Movie Multimedia Network Co., Ltd. Edit Biography
