Jennifer Jao is the director of the Taipei Film Commission. She received a MFA degree in film & television at the University of Colorado and had worked in Central Pictures Corporation, where she was responsible for planning, producing, promoting, marketing and purchasing.

In 2007, Jao served as a producer for a Taiwan-Japan film titled "Rail Truck." Later she participated in planning and producing the omnibus film titled "Taipei Factory," which prompted the collaborative projects with France and Italy.

As one of the most important figures in Taiwan's film industry, Jao also serves as the chairman of the Taiwan Film & Culture Association and a counselor of the Taipei Film and Drama Union.
