He has entered several trot survival competitions with mixed results as he was eliminated in season 1 of "Mr. Trot" during the preliminary round, and he finished in 4th place in SBS's "K-Trot in Town 2 - Last Chance". He switched between Park Seong On and Son Bin A as his stage names, but his career has not taken off like that of other trot singers.
