Wang Chu Chin is a Taiwanese director, cinematographer and producer born in Shanghai. He came to Hong Kong with his family in 1953 and later settled in Taiwan. After graduating from Fine Arts Department of Taiwan Academy of Arts in 1968, he joined an advertising agency as an artist, and in 1973 he set up his own company, AURORA Films, where his main business was producing commercials and documentaries, while his hobby was making experimental films. At that time, he also helped Guo He Media Company to produce a number of documentaries for broadcast on CTV. In 1977, he won the 14th Golden Horse Award for his documentary ""When Mullet Come"" 《烏魚來的時候》. In 1979, he won the 16th Golden Horse Award for the best documentary and the best cinematography.
