He made his debut in May 2015 as AP6's leader and main vocalist with their digital single, "Face Off". DS Entertainment (DS엔터테인먼트) wanted the group to have a mysterious member, so they kept member Jung Won Cheol in a mask for the majority of the promotional period. However, they were not successful and disbanded in April 2016 without having released any more music.
He became a soloist and released the single "Think of Tomorrow" in March 2017, but his singing style was not clearly defined, and he struggled in the industry. He enlisted for his mandatory military service on April 10, 2017, and was discharged on January 2, 2019.
In 2020, he participated in "Mr. Trot Season 1" and quickly stood out with his unique performances that were labeled as "unconventional" by the judges. He was eliminated near the finals and placed in the Top 20 overall. After the show, he re-debuted as a trot singer with the single album "Guardian Angel".
In 2022, he entered MBN's "Burning Trotman", and now, with a more polished singing style, he finished in 4th place. After the show, he joined 3 other contestants and formed BTF4 (불타는F4; also known as BURNING F4). They debuted in October 2023 with the mini-album, "Nice Man", and were managed by New Era Project (뉴에라프로젝트).
He still occasionally performs with BTF4, but he is mostly focused on his individual activities and is represented by VL Entertainment (브이엘엔터테인먼트).
