Hwang Young Woong is a South Korean singer. He graduated from Ulsan Natural Science High School and had only participated in regional songs festival but with good results.

In 2022, he entered MBN's trot competition, "Burning Trotman", and immediately he was seen as one of the candidates to reach the finals. However, as he progressed through the rounds without much trouble, viewers began noting the perceived preferential treatment he was receiving by getting high scores from the judges without singing particularly well and how the production went as far as to change the on-screen lyrics of the song if he made a mistake as opposed to other singers whose errors were even highlighted in red.

Just before the second round of the finals, allegations of previous school violence surfaced and combined with the other issue, he voluntarily quit the show and also missed the national tour afterwards.
