He made his debut as a director in 1926 with an adaptation of the novel "Frankenstein", where he also played the titular character. He is mostly known for directing the 1937 horror film "Song at Midnight". Ma-Xu moved to Hong Kong in 1947, where continued directing until his death due to a car accident. Edit Biography
