Kim Seo Hyun, known professionally as KATIE or Katie Kim, is a South Korean-American singer-songwriter. Born in Bucheon, she immigrated with her family to New Jersey at the age of 10 and she wanted to become a singer when she started high school. She graduated from Leonia High School and later studied song writing and performance (focusing on jazz music) at Berklee College of Music, but had to drop out due to financial difficulties burdening her family. In 2014, she returned to South Korea and appeared in the singing competition "KPop Star 4" where she ended up as the winner. After the show, she signed with YG Entertainment and made her debut featuring in Jinusean's song "Tell Me One More Time" which was presented in an episode of SBS Inkigayo. In 2018, she released her single "Remember" and one year later she decided to re-release it but with rapper Ty Dollar $ign featuring in it. She joined AXIS in 2018 and also joined the American branch of recording label AWAL in 2019. She returned to school and is now mainly based in the United States.
