Wang Tao, born in Anqing City, Anhui Province, is a film and television actor in Mainland China and graduated from Beijing Film Academy (Acting Department). He is a child of a military family.

In 1998, by chance, he was selected by the provincial art school examiner and admitted to the Huangmei Opera performance class of Anhui Provincial Art School, where he received four years of training in the Huangmei Opera performance class.

In 2002, he embarked on his journey north to study alone, and was admitted to the acting junior college class of Beijing Film Academy that year.

In 2004, when he graduated from the acting class, Wang Tao received his first male leading role in his career, filming the youth inspirational TV series "Summer Records" 《夏日语录》.

In 2008, Wang Tao chose to go back to school for further studies. In the same year, he was admitted to the 2008-level junior college in the Performance Department of the Beijing Film Academy. In 2010, he graduated from school with a bachelor's degree.

From 2012 to 2018, Wang Tao joined the TV Drama Department of the Frontline Art Troupe of the former Political Department of the Nanjing Military Region, during which he filmed more than a dozen modern and contemporary military works.
