Nakamura Masaya was born in Osaka. He is currently signed to Watanabe Entertainment. He's a former member of D-BOYS. His brother is the B League basketball player Nakamura Tomoya.

After dropping out of high school, he moved to Tokyo and became a second-year student at Watanabe Entertainment College, the talent training instutition for Watanabe Entertainment.

He debuted as an actor in January 2007. He joined D-BOYS in July of the same year before announcing his graduation from the group in April 2010.

The following year, he announced his marriage to former Morning Musume member Yaguchi Mari. Their wedding reception was held a year later, in 2012. A year after that, news broke that Nakamura and Yaguchi were divorcing following the information about Yaguchi's affair with model Umeda Kenzo, breaking.
