Before debuting, he spent only 3 months as a trainee at SM Entertainment (SM엔터테인먼트). He participated in the survival show "NCT Universe: LASTART" finishing in 3rd place.
The group released a pre-debut song titled "Hands Up" in October 2023. He made his debut in February 2024 as NCT WISH's main vocalist with their first single "Wish".
After their debut, SM decided to stop adding more members or creating sub-units.
