Kim Jung Geun is a South Korean announcer. He graduated from Dongguk University with a bachelor's degree in Business Administration. He made his debut in 2004 as part of an open talent recruitment at MBC and in 2008 was chosen as one of MBC's announcers for the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing and also for the South Korean National soccer team. In 2010, he married fellow announcer Lee Ji Ae and the couple has two children born in 2017 and in 2020. He was one of the leaders of the strike at MBC in 2012 and lost his position as the main broadcaster of international competitions to "King of Mask Singer" host Kim Seong Ju. In 2017, he decided to quit MBC and became a freelancer but then decided to return to the network around one year later. The administration debated whether to bring him back or not, but ultimately decided to re-hire him as they needed more announcers for the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia. In 2021, he was promoted as MBC's #2 announcer. In 2023, he resigned from MBC for a second time and once again has become a freelancer. Later that year, he served as the broadcaster for the South Korea men's soccer team friendly matches that aired on TV Chosun.
