Jeong Gwan Yong is a South Korean professor, journalist and TV host. He graduated from Soongsil High School and later obtained a bachelor's degree in Sociology from Seoul National University, a master's degree in Political Science from Kookmin University, and a Ph.D. in Journalism from Hanyang University.

After university, he worked at the Contemporary Society Research Institute, a state-run research institute, but was fired in 1989 for organizing a labor union. He later served as an administrative officer in the Presidential Office during the civilian government.

He then became a commentator for several shows on the Christian Broadcasting System (CBS), a radio host for KBS FM, and has served as a debate moderator for many political shows. He is also an adjunct professor at Kyung Hee University and a full professor at Hallym University of International Studies and Kookmin University.
