Ding Sheng is a Chinese director, screenwriter, actor, producer, and teacher, born in Qingdao, Shandong, China. He graduated from the Fine Arts Department of the Beijing Film Academy in 1994 and furthered his studies in the directing class of the Beijing Film Academy in 2001.

He is also a professor of the Directing Department of the Beijing Film Academy, a master's tutor, a member of the China Film Directors Association, as well as a member of the China Film Editors Society
