Li Yuan Qing is a Chinese-Canadian actress born in Urumqi, Xinjiang, China. She moved to Beijing when she was one year old, and later immigrated to Toronto, Canada with her family when she was six years old. She has a fraternal twin named Li Yuan Bing, who is also an actress.

From the age of 10, Li Yuan Qing and her twin sister studied drama at The Young People Theatre in Toronto. In 2014, they received drama performance training at the Drama Department of Ryerson University. In 2016, she was admitted to Beijing Film Academy after performing Rui Jue's wedding night monologue from Cao Yu's theatre play "Home" for the art test.
