Kim Gyu Ri, born Kim Min Sun, is a South Korean actress. She graduated from Yangmyeong Girls' High School and later obtained a bachelor's degree in Broadcasting Entertainment from Dongduk Women's University. She made her debut in 1997 as a model in Figaro magazine and has constantly appeared in women's fashion magazines.

In the early-2000s, she began getting interested in a full-time acting career and she took almost any role, appearing in 3-4 per year. Her role in the 2008 movie "Portrait of a Beauty" was praised for being bold and courageous and she gained attention for it. In 2009, she was banned from the industry by the Lee Myung Bak administration for speaking about the government's actions controlling Mad Cow Disease. She legally changed her name to Kim Gyu Ri later that year.

In 2011, she returned and ended up as runner-up in season 1 of "Dancing With the Stars" and she was selected as host for the next two seasons. Her political views and unfiltered opinion on several issues have always landed her in controversies and her reputation goes up and down with the public.
