Ilya Belyakov is a South Korean of Russian origin medical interpreter, model, linguist and TV personality. He graduated with a bachelor's degree in Korean Studies from Far Eastern Federal University in Vladivostok and later obtained a master's degree in Korean Language and Literature from Yonsei University. He was also enrolled in the Ph.D. in Anthropology program at the University of South Carolina but dropped out. He moved to South Korea in 2003 to study his master's degree and by 2010 he was working at the Human Resources Department at Samsung. He went to the US briefly in 2015 but returned to pursue a career in entertainment in South Korea. In 2016, he became a South Korean citizen.
