Originally from Kanagawa, Japan, Suzuki graduated from the Faculty of Law at Kyoto University in 1991 and joined Fuji Television the same year. He worked in various departments including programming, sales, and BS Fuji before becoming a drama producer in 2001.
In 2009, Suzuki left Fuji Television and joined Wii no Aida Corporation. In May 2011, he established Suzuki Corporation as a freelance producer working in television and film. However, on June 30, 2017, Suzuki Corporation was closed, and the next day, July 1, Suzuki returned to Fuji Television, where he served as the General Producer of the Programming Center.
On April 30, 2018, he was promoted to Director of the First Production Room at the Production Center, succeeding Masayuki Suzuki.
On July 1, 2019, he was further promoted to Director of the Programming Center.
In the July 2023 season of Fuji Television's Thursday Theater, he wrote the script under the pseudonym Maruta Karasuma.
