He graduated from Tosa Junior High School and High School, and later from the Faculty of Law and Political Science at Chuo University.
In April 1983, he joined Shinchosha and was assigned to the Weekly Shincho magazine. He unearthed the memoirs of the victims' families in the Kobe Serial Child Murder Case. From October 2002, he serialized "Judges Are Strange!" in Weekly Shincho, which was later extensively revised and published as "Judges Destroy Japan" by Shinchosha. In this work, he critiques the judge of the Tokyo High Court who reversed the conviction of the Matsudo OL Murder Case, previously arrested for the Aki District Beheading Murder Case where Etsuo Ono was arrested in 1996 and convicted.
In April 2008, he left Shinchosha and became independent.
He has been investigating the Tohwa Incident, in which his uncle was murdered, since his early twenties.
