Bando Choemon was a Kabuki actor. His real name was Takase Daisuke (高瀬大助), and he was born in Sendai, Japan. He began his career in theater in 1903, performing in a shinpa theater production in Sendai, under the patronage of the impresario Kase Kichibei. Afterward, he traveled and performed in various regions. In 1917, he moved to Tokyo and became a disciple of the 3rd generation Bando Hideshige, taking the stage name Bando Choemon.

His son is the director Takase Seiichiro, and his grandson is the director Takase Kazuki and Kabuki actor the 2nd generation Nakamura Sennojo.
