He decided to audition, alongside his friend Kim Seul Ong, for the KBS show "Top Band". They formed TOXIC in 2011 with him as the duo's main vocalist, guitarist, keyboardist, and bassist, earning 1st place in the show. The pair made their official debut one year later with their first mini-album, "First Bridge". Unfortunately, they rejected a contract with a large company after winning "Top Band" and have never been able to achieve the success of other indie/rock bands.
He now mostly promotes as a soloist.
