Tsume Masaru is a film director, scriptwriter, and assistant director. After graduating from high school, he got a job in his hometown and worked there for five years, but moved to Tokyo after hearing God's advice to make a movie. In 2015, he enrolled in the ENBU Seminar, where he studied film under director Ichii Masahide, and directed two short films and one feature film while still in school.

After graduating, he gained experience as an assistant director in commercial films.
