She dropped out of the Faculty of Home Economics at Wayo Women's University. She attended the Toho Performing Arts School and was affiliated with Toho, and later with Shinsei Productions, before joining Takarai Project.
In 1963, she joined Toho and made her debut in the movie "Apple Blossoms in the Town". After Toho abolished its exclusive actor system, she continued her acting career with Shinsei Productions.
