He graduated from Tokyo Denki University in 1951 and from the Electrical Engineering Department at Gunma University in 1953. After graduating from university, he started big in 1959 with the TV adaptation of the novel called "Red Peacock". He then held various occupations before joining Toei Television Productions as a producer in 1960. In 1962, he joined Nippon Educational Television (NET, now TV Asahi) as a producer.
During the filming of the television drama "Shiroi Kottou" in 1967, which required shooting in Berlin, Frankfurt, and Heidelberg in Germany, he began considering the possibility of living abroad in the future. Eventually, he narrowed down his choices to Spain and Portugal, and after conducting comparative research on both countries, he decided to immigrate to Portugal in 1985. After retiring in 1989, he and his wife moved to Portugal.
He ended his TV career in 1984 with a docuseries that deals with important events of the Showa period, called "New Documentary Drama Showa Matsumoto Seibari Incident" (ニュードキュメンタリードラマ昭和 松本清張事件にせまる).
In 1990, he also co-authored a book with Yamanaka Kaoru called "And the Dream Crossed the Sea" (そして、夢は海を越えた) and in 1997 launched a tourist guide about Portugal called "Uncle Lisbon Twisted Guide: See, Hear, Eat Portugal" (リスボンおじさんひねくれガイド 見る聞く、食べるポルトガル).
