Ichikawa Hisao

After working as a civil servant in the Ministry of Communications, he joined Shinko Kinema in 1939. He initially worked in the publicity department. He was called up for military service during the filming of "Fubuki no Haru" but returned to Daiei in November 1945 after the war. He served as head of the planning department. He also established a screenwriting training school within Daiei Tokyo Studios to foster talent.
In 1957, he left the Daiei and was involved in the establishment of Nihon Eiga. In 1958, he moved to Toho, as well as contributed to the establishment of Mifune Productions. Later, he transferred to the television department of the same company. After retiring from the company, he continued producing independently.
He passed away at his home in Chofu, Japan, due to heart failure at the age of 87.
