Wada Ayao was a Japanese actor, voice actor, and stage producer born in Tokyo, Japan. He was the former president of Theater Echo (テアトル・エコー).

He graduated from the Faculty of Agriculture at the Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology.

In November 1946, he joined the Baraza theater company (薔薇座) and debuted on stage in "Tokyo Elegy" (東京哀詩). He left Baraza in May 1948. In September 1954, he joined the theater company GEKIDAN TOUGEI (劇団東芸) and stayed until August 1956, then joined Theater Echo in September of the same year. He served as president of Theater Echo from 1967 to 1992.

He passed away on September 6, 2010, at the age of 81 due to pneumonia in a hospital in Itabashi-ku, Tokyo, Japan.
