Fujino Chiya is a Japanese novelist born in Fukuoka, Japan. She graduated from Azabu Junior and Senior High School and Chiba University’s Faculty of Education.

After working as an editor for a manga magazine, she made her debut as a novelist by winning the 14th Kaien Newcomer Literary Prize in 1995 for her work "Gogo no Jikanwari" (Afternoon Timetable).

In 2004, she became a judge for the Gunzo New Literary Award, serving from the 47th to the 51st selection rounds.
