Mariya is a former Japanese actress and television personality from Tokyo, Japan. She graduated from an international school in 2005 and went on to attend university. During her active years, she was affiliated with Now Fashion Agency.

Her mother is actress and television personality Akigawa Lisa, and her maternal grandfather is American.

From the age of five, Mariya pursued classical ballet.

She was initially a member of the dance and vocal unit "Chicchai Z" (Chicchaizu), but she withdrew on December 31, 2000. In 2001, she made her acting debut in the sixth series of "3-Nen B-Gumi Kinpachi Sensei." In 2004, she made her film debut in "Runin."
