He began his theater training in 1997 at the Theatre Research Institute of Engeki Shuudan En and later joined the KERA Class of ENBU Seminar in 1999. From 2002 to 2004, he was a member of the Engeki Bento Nyan theatre troupe. Since 2006, he has been associated with the Chrome Molybdenum theatre group, which is currently on hiatus.
During high school, inspired by a successful cultural festival performance, he pursued opportunities in Tokyo, initially aspiring to join the "Kin-chan Gekidan" theatre troupe. Instead, he found success with the Engeki Yosei-jo acting school, leading him to pursue a career in stage acting.
Despite facing challenges such as three Achilles tendon ruptures from 2000 to 2001, Kubo continued to perform with Engeki Bento Nyan until its dissolution in 2004. He remains active in the theater community as a member of the Chrome Molybdenum group.
