Nakamura Tomijuro V was a prominent kabuki actor recognized for his contributions to Japanese cultural heritage. Born Watanabe Hajime, he was the son of Yondaime Nakamura Tomijuro and Azuma Tokoho, head of the Azuma School of Japanese Dance. He belonged to the Japan Art Academy and held the title of Important Intangible Cultural Heritage (Living National Treasure).

In August 1943, he made his stage debut as Yondaime Bando Tsurunosuke in "Kagami Shishi" at Osaka's Nakaza Theater. Throughout his career, he assumed various stage names, including Rokudaime Ichimura Takenojo in "Yoritomo's Death" at the Kabuki-za Theater in April 1964, and Godaime Nakamura Tomijuro in productions such as "Sakiguruma" and "Musume Dojoji" at the Kabuki-za Theater in September 1972.

He passed away on January 3, 2011, at the age of 81, due to rectal cancer at a hospital in Tokyo.
