Kaihara Yukio was a Japanese sound engineer born in Kyoto, Japan. He graduated from Kyoto Municipal Commercial School and began his career at Nikkan Kyoto Film Studio in 1935. His earliest recorded work was on the film Kojin Okichi: Kurofune Jowa, released in 1937. That same year, he worked as the sound engineer for the New Year's film Chikemizu Takada no Baba.

Following World War II, Nikkan Kyoto Film Studio was consolidated into Daiei, forming Daiei Kyoto Film Studio on January 27, 1942. Kaihara continued his work with the new studio. By the early 1950s, he was a technical contractor at Daiei Kyoto Film Studio, as noted in Kinema Junpo articles from 1951 and 1953.

In the 1970s, Kaihara contributed to sound recording for television dramas produced by the studio. According to a June 2007 publication of Nihon no Eigajin, he had already passed away by that time.
