Shin Kye Sook is a South Korean professor, chef, author. She graduated from Dankook University with a bachelor's degree in Chinese Language and Literature and later obtained a master's degree and a Ph.D. in Food Science from Ewha Womans University.

During her undergraduate years, she worked as a chef at a Chinese restaurant and also lectured at the Samsung Lifestyle Culture Center. The response to both her teaching style and her cooking skills were so good, that her mentor recommended her for admission in the master's/Ph.D. program.

Since 1998, she has been a professor of Chinese interpretation and translation at Baehwa Women's University and is currently in charge of Chinese food in the Department of Culinary Arts.
