Kung Yu Chi is the keyboardist and violist for the Taiwanese band Su Ta Lv (蘇打綠), where he contributes to arrangements and performs on piano and viola. He also serves as the music producer for the band Liang Jing Jing (亮晶晶).

On January 12, 2010, he fell seriously ill and was hospitalized, requiring emergency surgery the following day. After over a month of recovery, he received a notice to enlist on March 1, which impacted Su Ta Lv's performances and recording work, including the original two-year Vivaldi project. While in military service, Kung managed to obtain leave to temporarily rejoin the band. He completed his military service on March 31, 2011, and officially rejoined Su Ta Lv.

Kung's grandfather, Kung Hsing Tao (龔幸道), was a recording engineer in the pop music industry.
