Kim Seong Yeon is a South Korean retired judoka turned coach. She graduated from Jeonnam Physical Education High School and later obtained a bachelor's degree in Judo from Yongin University and a master's degree in Physical Education from Chosun University.

She decided to try judo after her parents suggested it as an option during elementary school. Her athleticism and stamina helped her sweep various competitions during her childhood and early youth. In her third year of high school, she was selected as part of the national team in the under 63 kg category.

She won a bronze medal in the under 70 kg category at the 2013 World Judo Championships and later won medals at Asian Games, Asian Championships and Universiade. She competed at the 2016 and 2020 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro and Tokyo, respectively, but was eliminated in the earlier rounds. She opted to retire in 2022 after suffering a knee injury.

She is now a coach for KH Group Philux Judo Team.
