Kitakoji Isamitsu

The family faced financial difficulties, leading to a move to Kuramaguchi, Kyoto, where Isamitsu was raised by his grandmother after his parents divorced when he was five. He attended Doshisha Junior High School (同志社中学) and Gakushuin (学習院) but dropped out of the University of Tokyo’s Faculty of Letters (東京大学). During his time at Gakushuin, he was involved with the Reinan-zaka Church (霊南坂教会).
In 1942, after his father's death, Isamitsu succeeded to the viscount title. He also held various academic roles, including a position as a lecturer at the University of Sydney. Although he wrote novels, they were not widely successful.
