She made her debut in 1984 when she finished in third place in the 2nd Gag Contest at KBS. She was given a spot in the network and appeared in "Humor No. 1".
In 1990, she married fellow comedian Kim Hak Rae, who is 10 years older than her, so the couple had to fight through both families' opposing their relationship and even other comedians who courted her.
In 1991, the couple moved to SBS as the network began creating more comedy shows and both enjoyed a stable time with regular on-screen appearances.
They now own a very successful Chinese restaurant and also opened a Youtube channel where all the family often talks about different subjects such as cars, cooking or fashion.
