In 1921, he began acting under the alias Tagawa Junkichi (田川淳吉) with the Stage Association (舞台協会). He later joined Okada Yoshiko’s (岡田嘉子) troupe in 1928 and started writing plays under his real name. In 1930, he founded the theater group Poupée Dansante (プペ・ダンサント), which disbanded in 1933. He subsequently became head of the literary department at Moulin Rouge (ムーランルージュ) in Shinjuku.
After World War II, he wrote scripts for radio and early television dramas.
