Jo Won Joon, known professionally as Jo Jin Woong, is a South Korean actor. He dropped out of high school but later passed the High School Graduation Certification Examination. He then earned a bachelor's degree in Theater and Film from Kyungsung University.

He made his debut in 1996 as a theater actor with the company Dongnyeok where he spent 8 years in Busan perfoming in several stage plays. After being disillusioned of the routine work, he decided to move to Seoul in 2004 and tried to pursue an acting career. He made his debut later that year with a small role in the movie "Once Upon A Time In High School". Since then, he continued appearing in many dramas and movies.

However, on December 5, 2025, several online reports emerged that he had been involved in various criminal acts during his youth, including vehicle theft and sexual assault, for which he had reportedly spent time in a juvenile facility. Further, other reports claimed that he had been allegedly fined for assaulting a fellow theater troupe member and had his driver’s license revoked for drunk driving. His agency, Saram Entertainment (사람엔터테인먼트), issued a statement confirming the criminal acts during his youth but strongly denying the sexual assault claims.

The following day, he issued a personal statement deeply apologizing for his actions and announcing his retirement from the entertainment industry.
