She first appeared on TV as 10-year old singing prodigy in SBS's "Star King" with a rendition of Whitney Houston's "I Have Nothing". She then auditioned for a spot as a trainee at JYP Entertainment (JYP엔터테인먼트) and managed to earn 2nd place. She later moved to New York to study English and lived the for 2 years but traveled back-and-forth between both countries.
She made her debut in October 2012 as part of duo 15& (alongside Park Ji Min, known professionally as Jamie) with the digital single "I Dream". However, after a few releases, the duo went on an indefinite hiatus in February 2015.

In August 2019, both her and Jamie's contracts expired, marking the official disbandment of 15& after 4 years on hiatus.
She created her own label, Blue Vinyl, and THE VOLUNTEERS joined in May 2021. This marked their official debut as all their previous releases had been on YouTube or SoundCloud.
In April 2024, she terminated her agency and decided to sign with peoplelikepeople (피플라이크피플).
