Lee Dae U is a South Korean police officer. He graduated from Jeonnam Mechanical Engineering High School and later obtained a bachelor's degree in Law from Korea National Open University.

He enlisted for his mandatory military service in 1986 when he was 20 years old and served as a conscripted police officer at the National Police Agency where he worked at the criminal prevention and criminal affairs units before he was discharged.

After working several part-time jobs, he passed the 2nd class police officer exam in 1989, entered the police force as a police officer, and was later promoted to superintendent through special promotion

He is the current Criminal Investigation Division Chief at the Seoul Seodaemun Police Station.
