He originally was preparing to become an actor, but he was scouted by Starship Entertainment (스타쉽엔터테인먼트) and went for a career as an idol instead. He spent 2 years and 4 months training.
He then appeared in the company's survival show "Debut's Plan", where he finished in 2nd place and earned a spot in the resulting project group, originally called NEWKIDS but later changed to IDID.
He made his debut in September 2025 as the group's leader with their first mini-album, "I Did It".
