She spent her early years in Kadoma, Osaka, before moving to Chikushino, Fukuoka, at age six. From the age of three, she received classical music education, starting with piano lessons at age four and learning harmony and composition at age five. By six, she had completed her first composition, Papa to Mama (パパとママ).
She graduated from the Music Department of Fukuoka Joshi Gakuin Junior and Senior High School (福岡女学院中学校・高等学校) and enrolled in the Composition Department at the National University of Fine Arts and Music (国立音楽大学音楽学部作曲学科). During her university studies, she trained under voice coach Seth Riggs in Los Angeles. She continued her training in Los Angeles after graduation, aiming to become a composer.
Her self-produced demo recordings caught the attention of record labels, leading to her debut in 1992 under Victor Musical Industries (ビクター音楽産業). She released her first single Ai ga Areba Daijobu (愛があれば大丈夫) in December 1992. Following some early challenges with her second single, she received support from the ski equipment company Alpen (アルペン), which co-financed her next production and helped relaunch her career.
In 1999, she founded Do Dream (ドゥ・ドリーム) to teach voice training and vocal lessons using her own methods and served as the principal. She also taught at her alma mater, Fukuoka Joshi Gakuin University (福岡女学院大学).
Hirose ended her management contract with Office Thirty (オフィスサーティー) in May 2018, transitioning to Muse Endeavor Inc. Amid legal disputes with her former agency, a reconciliation was reached later that year.
From 1992 to 1996, she was affiliated with Victor Music Arts (ビクターミュージックアーツ), and from 1996 to 2018, she worked with Office Thirty (オフィスサーティー). She is currently based in Honolulu, Hawaii, and continues her music career. Hirose also contributes regularly to the free newspaper QOLA, aimed at Japanese residents in Los Angeles.
She was married to actor Osawa Takao (大沢たかお) from 1999 to 2006, and since 2008, she has been married to an American man outside the entertainment industry.
