Dan Du Yu was a Chinese film director and cinematographer from Shanghai, China. In 1920, he founded Shanghai Film Co. He began working with actress Yin Ming Zhu in the early 1920s, and they married in 1926. The couple had a daughter, Judy Dan, who also became an actress. In 1937, the family relocated to Hong Kong.
