Maggie Kang is a Canadian director and screenwriter. She was born in Seoul but her family moved to Toronto, Canada when she was 5 years old and later decided to stay there. She graduated from Sheridan College with a degree in Classical Animation.

After college, she spent several years working at DreamWorks Animation. She later moved to other smaller studios before returning to DreamWorks for another 3 years.

She is now a director at Sony Pictures Animation where she co-directed the original animated movie “KPop Demon Hunters” in 2025.
