Desmond Tan is a Singaporean actor and singer who started his acting career after joining Star Search 2007, a Singapore TV reality talent competition. Desmond won his first Rocket award at the 2012 Star Awards for the most significant breakthrough after a critically acclaimed performance as a rickshaw driver Luo Xiaoxiao in Mediacorp’s anniversary TV series, "A Song to Remember".

Desmond began venturing into the regional market with various productions. He clinched the lead role in the movie "The Big Day", and then received another lead role in the Singapore and Hong Kong ViuTV co-production series, "The Blue Tick", as well as Singapore and Taiwan co-production TV series "All Is Well".

In 2018, Desmond won Best Actor for his performance in "When Duty Calls" at Star Awards. In the same year, Desmond took on a psychopath serial killer role in "Code Of Law 3" and subsequently season 4, winning many over with his applauding performance, thus leading up to the creation of the "Derek 1" and 2 series. Desmond has received 7 Top 10 Most Popular Male Artistes till now.

In the beginning of 2023, he became the first Singaporean actor to attend the Fashion Week in Milan and Paris by gracing the shows of all major fashion brands with front row seats.
