As a child, her family had a wealthy life until her father suffered a sudden cerebral hemorrhage. Her mother began selling noodles at Gyeongdong Market to make ends meet, and she often helped her after school. In her 20s, she took over the family business as her mother's eyesight declined.
She gained popularity as "Imokase No. 1" on the Netflix cooking competition survival program "Culinary Class Wars". She owns two noodle restaurants in Seoul.
