Pyeon Seung Yeop is a South Korean singer. He graduated from Mapo High School and later obtained an associate's degree in Broadcasting and Entertainment from Daegu Arts University.

He made his debut in 1983 as part of an amateur band but had to work multiple part-time jobs to help his family. He finally had an opportunity to make an official release in 1991 with the single album, "Seoul Dandelion". However, he struggled to showcase his talents on stage, let alone in live broadcasts, and remained largely unknown.

In 1992, he received the trot song "Chan Chan Chan" from senior singer Kim So Hee, and it marked a rise in his popularity and the peak of his career. In 1997, he went through a bitter divorce with fellow singer Gil Eun Jung after being married for only 7 months. In 2002, she accused him of verbal and physical assault during their relationship, and he sued her for defamation, eventually winning the case in 2004. He spent nearly 15 years out of the entertainment industry until he released new material in 2016.

He is represented by Big Daddy Music Entertainment (빅대디뮤직이엔티).
