During his time at school, he was scouted by several professional clubs due to his unique pitching form that features an uncommon left-handed arm angle and double-kicking motion. He was chosen in the 2nd round (75th overall) by the LG Twins during the 2019 KBO Draft and, after a few months, was called up to the senior team.
He enlisted for his mandatory military service on January 16, 2023, and was discharged on July 15, 2024. During his service, he played with the Sangmu Baseball Team (Army) and, after being released, his contract with LG Twins ended. He then signed a contract with KT Wiz.
