He was chosen in the 2nd round (59th overall) by the Hanwha Eagles in the 2016 KBO Draft. He is known for his versatility as a utility player, being able to play any position on the field except pitcher and catcher.
He enlisted for his mandatory military service in mid-2019 and was discharged in mid-2021. After being released, he moved to Australia, where he played on loan for Geelong-Korea of the Australian Baseball League. However, after only one season, the team folded due to financial problems. He returned to South Korea and continued his career with the Eagles.
