Hou Deok Juk is a South Korean chef. He was born in Seoul, but as he grew up in a Chinese-Korean household, he had Taiwanese citizenship until 2000, when he became a South Korean citizen.

In 1977, he joined The Shilla Seoul’s Chinese restaurant, "Palsun", and introduced the dish known as Buddha Jumps Over the Wall to the South Korean culinary world in 1987. This dish brought a significant change in the Chinese cuisine consumed in South Korea from Sichuan to Cantonese. In 2024, he received a Mentor Chef Award from the Michelin Guide.

He is the first person in the Korean culinary industry to become an executive at a major corporation. He currently oversees the one-Michelin-starred Chinese restaurant "Haobin" located at the Ambassador Seoul Pullman Hotel.
